Coronavirus vaccine

On December 7, 2020, the possibility of voluntary registration for coronavirus vaccination has been opened in Hungary. According to the Prime Minister's Office, vaccinations can start when a safe vaccine - approved by the Hungarian authorities - is available.

In November 2020, pharmaceutical companies and research groups from Pfizer / BioNtech, Moderna, University of Oxford / AstraZeneca and the Gamaleya Institute reported positive results on their self-developed vaccines.

The world's first (outside of clinical trials) coronavirus vaccination was given to 91-year-old English grandmother Margaret Keenan. The 95 percent effective Pfizer vaccine was approved by UK experts in early December, where a gradual vaccination of the population began.
