Abdominal Ultrasound

Abdominal ultrasound is used to examine all organs from the diaphragm to the pelvic bone that includes the liver, gallbladder, spleen, pancreas and spleen as well as the kidneys and abdominal arteries.  The condition of the intestinal wall can be determined and in the pelvic area, the bladder, uterus, ovaries and the prostate also examined.

Disorders may be diagnosed from the structural changes and the circulation of blood observed in the organs.

Advance Preparation

The examination requires an empty stomach and a full bladder. You should not eat anything 6 hours prior to the examination and do not void before your examination.

The Porcedure

You will need to take off your clothes from the waist up then lie down on your back on the examining table.  In order to better see the organs, you will be asked to first turn onto one side then onto the other and take a deep breath and hold it a few times.

No contraindications.  However, should you arrive with a full stomach or an empty bladder, we will not be able to perform the examination or, if we do, the results obtained may be of limited value.

You will receive a written report of the results.

Patient safety protocol

We consider the safety of our patients and our professionals to be of the utmost importance, therefore, in accordance with the current regulations in force, we implement several protective measures against COVID-19 in our Institute, which you can read about in detail HERE. A negative PCR test is required for oral and other body cavity examinations or interventions if the patient had a positive PCR test in the last 3 weeks prior to the test.

The high level of interest in coronavirus testing has proportionally increased the workload of our telephone customer service. In order to improve our service, we provide a dedicated telephone line for corona virus test appointments: +36 1 999-1727
At the above telephone number - on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. - our colleagues only book appointments for coronavirus testing.
