What preparations are required for an MRI scan?
You are not required to have an empty stomach for the examination; however, you should not eat 1-2 hours before your appointment and even then eat only lightly. If you are to be given contrast material, results of laboratory kidney function tests not older than one month are needed.
What preparations are required for an abdominal CT scan?
You must arrive with your stomach empty, but, should take your important medications. Diabetic Patients on Metformin, must stop taking the medication 2 days prior to the examination. If you are to be given contrast material, results of laboratory kidney function tests not older than one month are needed. Contrast material given by mouth or injected in a vein may cause nausea and vomiting.
What are the limits of the MRI scan?
The MRI will accommodate a Patient of 135 Kg maximum weight and a chest height of maximum 30 cm. You will be required to lie completely still on our back for 20-40 minutes.
How long do the mammography results take?
The results usually take up to two weeks. The reason for this is that two radiologists will evaluate the results independent of each other marking positive abnormalities. The two readings ensure the mammography’s accuracy. When a screening examination is repeated it must be compared with the previous mammography. Should the two radiologist’s opinions vary, the decision will be made whether the Patient should be called back for examination.
How soon will the CT/MRI reports be finished?
You will receive the CD or pendrive containing the images immediately after the scanning and the report should take about 3-5 work days depending on the type of the test.
The recordings are also available through the Patient Portal, which was specially developed for the transfer of image material.
