Extensive laboratory workup
An extensive laboratory workup, which is most frequently ordered by physicians, provides a more complex picture of the body’s functions. It is worth it to discuss our fresh laboratory results every 1-2 years with our treating physician, even if we don’t happen to have any symptoms, because some diseases could be detected before they would cause any complaints.
The following parameters are included in the extensive laboratory workup: complete blood workup, complete urine analysis, sedimentation, liver and kidney function tests, cholesterols, iron, and blood sugar tests.
A fasting blood draw (following a 6-hour fasting) and a urine sample (the first one in the morning) are necessary to perform the extensive laboratory workup. Results will be available within 1-2 working days.
