General information about surgical procedures
Dear Patients,
We would like to inform you that, starting from August 21, 2025, the inpatient department of Buda Health Center will return to its full capacity and surgical portfolio on the renovated 5th floor of our central facility at Királyhágó Street.
Our private hospital’s customer service office and cashier will continue to operate at the Csalogány Street location, where pre-anesthesia consultations are also conducted. Preoperative examinations will be scheduled at our outpatient locations: Csalogány Street, Nagy Jenő Street, and Váci Road.
Due to the large-scale hospital development project at our Királyhágó Street facility, we are currently unable to provide parking spaces for patients and their relatives. Entry is permitted through the ambulance entrance only for patient drop-off. After the patient and their escort have exited the vehicle, please ensure that the car leaves the premises immediately!
Please note that high-performance machinery and heavy-duty trucks also use this entrance, so we kindly ask you to proceed with extra caution!
To ensure safe and smooth patient transport, our on-site security staff and patient transport colleagues will assist you.

How to reach us:
How can a surgical proposal be obtained?
At first, a personal consultation is held at the out-patient clinic of Buda Health Center with the specialist performing the procedure. At the specialist’s assessment our doctor decides on whether the surgery can be scheduled and gives full information about the recommended procedure.
If the procedure is recommended by a specialist who does not have consulting hours at the out-patient clinic of Buda Health Center (BHC), but performs surgeries there, this specialist will send the referral to the private in-patient coordinators, whom will then contact the patient in order to organize the patient pathway.
Where can the information about the procedures and prices be accessed?
The list of the surgical procedures, interventions performed at BHC can be accessed at our website.
The list of prices (serving informative purposes only) can be accessed by clicking on the following link: Price list of private hospital services
Regarding every surgical request, a personal quotation is sent to the patient based on the specialist’s recommendation, the particular procedure, the necessary days of hospitalization and the individual health risks.
How can someone be scheduled for a surgical procedure?
The private in-patient coordinators of Buda Health Center manage the scheduling of the procedures.
Contact information:
e-mail: magankorhaz@bhc.hu, Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Based on the specialist’s recommendation, a precise quotation of the surgery is made and sent to the patient. The quotation includes the cost of the surgery and the pre-operative assessment separately. If the quotation is accepted and confirmed by the patient, the private in-patient coordinators start organizing the patient pathway: making appointments, scheduling the pre-operative assessment, and giving information about the planned date and time of the surgery.
The date and time of the surgery become definite a week before the procedure, about which the coordinators will inform the patient as well.
How can a surgery be paid for, and how is the contract made?
The costs of the surgical package have to be paid in all cases before the hospital admission at the private in-patient customer service desk of BHC, Királyhágó Street Clinic. The available payment options are listed below:
- Advance payment via bank transfer
- Debit cards, cash or health fund cards, on a pre-arranged appointment at the private in-patient customer service desk of our Királyhágó Street Clinic.
- Payment made by a health insurance company: for contracted partners
If the costs of the surgery are paid by a health insurance company, the patient has to inform the health insurance company about the request for funding, who will then contact our colleagues. Please be informed that the insurance company’s approval of direct billing has to be received 3 working days before the procedure at the latest. If the approval of direct billing is not received in time, and the request for surgery still stands, billing will be arranged with the patient.
The costs of the pre-operative assessment have to be paid at the time of the examinations, at BHC’s reception desks.
A contract is made in all cases of in-patient care service. The event of signing the contract and making the payment can ideally be arranged for the same appointment. If the costs of the surgery are paid in advance via bank transfer, the contract is signed right before hospital admission.
How long does it take to get prepared for the surgery, and what kind of preparations are needed before the procedure?
In accordance with professional protocols, pre-operative assessment is required in all cases. The specialist and our colleagues inform the patient about the pre-operative assessments needed for a particular surgery.
In some cases, test results obtained from other healthcare providers are also accepted (laboratory test, 2-view chest X-ray, 12 channels resting ECG, most of the time). MRSA screening is compulsory before all procedures.
The anaesthesiology assessment can only be performed at BHC.
The anaesthesiologist and the specialist inform the patient, if based on the test results, the surgery is contraindicated or recommended to be scheduled for a later date.
