On this day, we celebrate the Day of Hungarian Healthcare (also known as the Semmelweis Day), which is a public holiday for health care workers in Hungary.
Ignác Semmelweis, Hungarian doctor, the "Mothers' Savior" who played a major part in surmounting post partum fever was born in 1818 on this day in Tabán, in Buda. The Semmelweis Medical History Museum, Memorial Plaques and the Semmelweis University of Medicine proudly bear his name.
July 1, 2015 is a public holiday also in our institute, therefore our outpatient clinics are closed.
Thank you for your understanding!
