Introduction

“The patient is always right.” I gladly recall the phrase of Professor Imre Magyar, who often mentioned this concept during his lectures of internal medicine.

After almost 45 years of clinical practice, I already understand how important it is to possess this kind of attitude as a doctor when turning to a patient. Only then can we obtain the trust necessary, which is the key to successful therapy. Although my job is to examine and treat disorders related to the digestive system primarily, it is more and more common in this fast moving world that the symptoms of these disorders are influenced by psychological problems and stressful situations.

I do believe that empathy and serene communication with the patients can improve the quality of care beyond professional examinations and therapeutic interventions. This is what I consistently try to achieve.

Scientific activity

I have been regularly participating in Hungarian and international scientific conferences, endoscopic in vivo presentations and courses for many years now.
In the beginning of the 1990’s I did pioneering work in the field of percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) and in the education of this procedure.
